Summit Bank hires Senior Vice President
May 21, 2009Craig Wanichek has joined Summit Bank, one of the region’s most successful community banks, as senior vice president and chief banking officer. He’ll be a member of the bank’s executive team, leading business development and relationship management initiatives.
“With his reputation as an exceptional banker, Craig is a strategic addition to the Summit team,” said Ann Marie Mehlum, president of Summit Bank. “We are confident that he will bring extraordinary value to our clients, using his banking skills as well as his breadth of knowledge and experience in corporate finance and private enterprise.”
Prior to joining Summit, Wanichek was an executive at Monaco Coach Corp. Before that, he was vice president, corporate banker at Sterling Savings Bank and U.S. Bank in Eugene, where he managed significant business relationships with family owned businesses in the Willamette Valley.
“As a growing business itself, Summit is well-positioned to serve solid, mid-sized businesses,” said Wanichek. “I pride myself on being a resource for my customers, not just someone they talk to about loans and deposits. Summit provides me a real opportunity to be of service to local professionals and businesses.”
Wanichek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Oregon. He sits on the Associated Oregon Industries Board, has served as chair of the City of Eugene budget committee, and served on the boards of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and Cascade Health Solutions.
