Meet the Beyond 9 to 5 Committee
This committee is made up of employee representatives from all operational areas of the Bank and works to organize group community service opportunities, develop the Bank's green initiatives, and makes suggestions to management in the areas of employee recognition, satisfaction and retention. Our members include:

Employee Community Service
In addition to the Bank’s sponsorships and outreach efforts, our employees donate their personal time and effort to helping our community. 2008’s Employee Community Service included:
- March of Dimes – March for Babies - $750+ raised
- United Way Employee Giving Campaign – 100% Participation

Green Initiatives
In our efforts to identify and implement changes in our workplace so that Summit can lessen its impact on the environment, we currently:
- Use rechargeable batteries in all electronics
- Use fluorescent bulbs in all light fixtures
- Use a minimum 10% recycled paper in all printing equipment
- Shred and recycle all paper waste
- Ensure that all other trash is sorted and recycled if possible
- Recycle all outdated computer equipment
- Encourage alternate modes of transportation and carpooling
Employee Recognition, Satisfaction, and Retention
Our goal in this area is to make Summit the BEST place to work. 2009 Employee initiatives and accomplishments included:
- Conducted Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey and ranked one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Oregon for 2009.
- Implemented new perks for employees such as monthly massages in the office, a monthly wellness/performance newsletter, and cost sharing for employee personal paper recycling, and more.
- Organized team building events and some just plain fun activities.
